Located within the High Amazonia,
the area of Misahualli offers a large range of activities for all : families, adventurers, fans of sports and strollers.
You will find hereunder a list of various things that can be done around our place.
Activities easy to do on your own :
- Visiting the village and meeting its monkeys (capuchins).
- Swimming in the river Misahualli.
- Walking to the Latas fall (1 hour and a half), and swimming in its natural pools.
- Hiking during 1 to 3 hours in secondary forest, discovering the insects and the Amazonian flora.
- Discovering the rainforest, on a well-labelled trail (about 2 hours).
- Visiting a botanical garden and learning about the use of medicinal herbs.
- Butterfly-watching, under the guidance of an entomologist.
- Visiting the Amazoonico, a center for animals rescued from illegal trade.
Activities requiring the attendance of a guide :
- Sailing down the Rio Napo (the Ecuadorian branch of the Amazon) in a balsa raft or a canoe to feel the subtle harmony between water and forest.
- Hiking in the rain forest during a one-day trip, or longer trips.
- Hiking at night in the rain forest, discovering its nocturnal residents.
- Visiting the “Sacha Samay” museum, presenting hunting techniques and traditional indigenous culture.
- Meeting an indigenous family, within a community and learning about the handicraft techniques.
- Discovering the traditional gold-washing technique.
- Rafting, cayak and buoy rafting on the river.

So that you can comfortably organize your journey here, France-Amazonia has at your disposal
3 packages "all-included".
Attention : Please, have in mind at the time of your reservation, that we need at least one week to organize a package.
These packages include,
from the afternoon of your arrival to the morning of your departure, the accommodation, the meals and the tours.
The latters are led by a licensed English-speaking guide, start at 9 a.m. and finish at 6 p.m..Therfore, and except in the case of the package "Meeting the forest", you will begin your tour after the breakfast and will come back to the hotel every night, where a home-made dinner will be expecting you.
Package "Discovery"
1 day of tour : 2 nights / 3 days - suitable for families with children !
- Day 1 : Arrival, visit to the village of Misahualli.
- Day 2 : Departure from the hotel in engine-propelled canoe,visit to a family and gold-washing show, walk through the rainforest (about 2 hours), visit to the Museum Sacha Samay, lunch, visit to the "Amazoonico”, back to the hotel in canoe (about 2 hours of canoe in the day).
- Day 3 : Departure.

2 days of tour : 3 nights / 4 days
- Day 1 : Arrival, visit to the village of Misahualli.
- Day 2 : Departure from the hotel in engine-propelled canoe, walk through the rainforest (about 2 hours), visit to the Museum Sacha Samay, lunch, visit to the "Amazoonico”, back to the hotel in canoe (about 2 hours of canoe in the day).
- Day 3 : Departure from the hotel in engine-propelled canoe, walk to the Latas waterfall, swimming, lunch, tubing on the River Napo, visit to a indegenous family, ceramics show, back to the hotel in canoe.

Package "Meeting the forest"
3 days of tour including 2 nights in the jungle : 4 nights / 5 days
- Day 1 : Arrival, visit to the village of Misahualli.
- Day 2 : Departure from the hotel in engine-propelled canoe, walk through the jungle for 2 to 3 hours, installation, lunch, demonstration of various handicrafts and explanations about the use of traditional tools for hunting and fishing, dinner and discussion around stories and legends of the community.
- Day 3 : Breakfast, walk through the jungle until a waterfall, swim, return by paddle canoe, lunch, explanations about medicinal and hallucinative plants, practice of the blow pipe and preparation of the ayahuasca, dinner, night ceremony with a shaman.
- Day 4 : Breakfast, walk until a muddy river for a medicinal swim, return to the cabins, visit to an indigenous community, return to Misahualli.
- Day 5 : Departure.
