Welcome to Misahualli (Ecuador)

5 hours from Quito, half an hour from Tena and 400 meters before entering the village of Misahualli, the Guest House France-Amazonia provides you with ideal conditions for preparing tours through Amazonia. In an equatorial environnement, above the river Napo (one of the two branches of the Amazon), you will enjoy the charm and the cosiness of traditional bungalows with European comfort.

Within a vast exotic garden, you will have at your disposal :

14 bedrooms with individual bathrooms and hot water for the accomodation of 32 guests (11 double bedrooms, 2 triple bedrooms and 1 quadruple bedroom)
1 Suite with a capacity of 2 to 3 guests
several common areas, equipped with hammocks, games and readings, if you want to take a rest facing the river Napo

Climate : In this area, there are no seasons.
In the same day, it can be raining during hours, and still be sunny.
The temperatures range from 15°C to 35°C. The nights are often cool.

Mosquitos and malaria : There is no malaria in this specific area of Amazonia (height : 408 m). Besides, the species of mosquitos living here are diurnal. They won't be bothering at night.

To take with you :

a repellent and large clothes, in order to protect you from the mosquitos, during the day
binoculars, to help you to observe the birds and the butterflies
a torch, to facilitate your movings at night (the sun sets at 6 p.m. everyday)
a bathing suit and a pair of sandals

Last, we recommend you to have enough cash with you when you come here, because there is no teller-machine in Misahualli.
Besides, we inform you that we no longer accept banknotes of US$ 100. Thank you for your understanding.

How to get here

Ecuador is equiped with a good buses' network, and the fares are reasonably low.

Coming from Tena, there is a bus to Misahualli every hour, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m..
Coming from Quito, there is a bus to Tena every hour, night and day.
You can also use the only direct bus to Mishahualli, which leaves Quito everyday at 11:30 a.m. (Quitumbe bus terminal).

In order to arrive just in front of our door, ask the driver to stop you in front of the college of Misahualli.
